Aluminum Water Bottle Review aluminum, Gear, Military, Ranger, Review, Stove, Swiss
Paul from The Outdoor Adventure takes a look at the Military surplus stove/cook set called the Swiss Ranger. It is a solid fuel / alcohol stove that includes a 1 quart cup and 1 liter aluminum water bottle that can also be used to boil water. The stove can be picked up for around at places like cheaperthandirt.com. If you’re getting into hiking and backpacking and you don’t want to invest a lot up front it is definitely worth considering. www.theoutdooradventure.net

@rmstudio Sounds great, although the smell taste of hexamine laced turkey would put me off the yams I’m sure!
@BCoutdoorsurvival Sorry to get back so late but i just got some esbit tabs or some Hexmine as I seriously had a hard time finding any fuel tabs anywhere. I went to walmart, big 5 sporting goods,even Outdoor world and nobody had it.. I finally went to a Military Surplus store and volah found some. So I will be doing a boil test after thanksgiving and let you know what I get. Have a good thanksgiving but dont try cooking with the stove the wife may get mad..
@NONNIE357 Glad you enjoyed it! Have fun with your stoves!
nice little setup i’m probably gonne get some for my kids because of the small easy carry and so on . Nice
@rmstudio Great to hear that you got one of the good ones. I’ve heard that they aren’t always in the best shape. If you get some times for boiling with the real esbit tablets I’d love to know what it is!
Thanks for the tip about the “cup holder”!
@BCoutdoorsurvival Hey got my stove in last weekend and love it. I got it from Dirt Cheap online for 10 bucks and the one I got was brand spanking new. You cant beat that for 10 bucks. I learned also that the wire catch handle when you set it flip to the side and have the bottle in the stove itself you can then put the cup in the wire handle because the cup fist perfectly in the wire handle like a cup holder. Those swiss thought of everything. LoL.
@rmstudio Thanks! Can’t say I didn’t forget for a second!
Great job on the description and demo of this stove as many do not mention the handle nub you stick in the base of the stove in order to use the bottle to boil your water in. Also the mention of getting the stove to hot and “Melting” aluminum sides of the stove. I have my stove ordered and its coming this weekend. Still amazing me that people boil with the cork in it.. LoL.
@brmarijn Hey thanks for the info. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for it!
